Star Spangled Salute

On the 3rd of July we head over to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for the Star Spangled Salute. Bobby loves Classical music and this is a FREE event that the Houston Symphony does each year. They play about 10-12 songs ending the night with the 1812 Overture with Cannons. This year was their special guest was an astronaut that had talked to someone on the space station that had them turn on some lights or something right around 10pm when the event was over. For about 3 minutes you could watch the space station pass across the sky. It was pretty cool!

My favorite part of the night. They play the song for each branch of military and those that served in that branch stand. An amazing display of patriotism!
